– We have reached an agreement with the President of France on strengthening Europe – Viktor Orbán, the prime minister of Hungary, announced in Budapest after Monday's summit of the prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries and Emmanuel Macron.

Historical irony must be at play if the contemporary “Visegrád” foundation is a common historical experience stemming from more than 40 years of being part of, or to put it more bluntly, of subordination to and dependence on an eastern empire known as the Soviet Union – built by Lenin and consolidated by Stalin with the consent of the so-called western powers.

Poland and Hungary are known in Europe not only for their very good bilateral relations but also, above all, for their cooperation in defending common values and interests in the international arena, especially within the European Union. The two countries have enjoyed very warm relations for many years, which is due to their shared history, cultural ties, and often similar foreign policy goals. All this is reflected in formats such as the Visegrad Group (V4) and the Three Seas Initiative (TSI).

On 8 December 2021, the Park of Polish-Hungarian Friendship in Veszprém – a city located southwest of Budapest – saw the official unveiling and consecration ceremony of a commemorative plaque honouring the former President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński.

The European Union is made up of free and equal nation-states, linked by a number of areas of close cooperation, and Europe can only be saved from further crises and tensions through this model of cooperation, European Conservative leaders said in a joint statement closing Saturday's Warsaw conference.

The motion was passed by pro-government lawmakers and several independents. The opposition boycotted the vote.

"The actions of the Belarusian regime are unacceptable; the regime cynically exploits people and violates their dignity and human rights; we protest against such actions and stand in full solidarity with the countries affected by hybrid attacks on their borders with Belarus" – announced in a joint statement the presidents of Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia during the Visegrád Group summit in Budapest.
