Meeting of the Presidents of the Visegrád Group in Budapest

"The actions of the Belarusian regime are unacceptable; the regime cynically exploits people and violates their dignity and human rights; we protest against such actions and stand in full solidarity with the countries affected by hybrid attacks on their borders with Belarus" – announced in a joint statement the presidents of Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia during the Visegrád Group summit in Budapest. – Today, Poland is defending not only its own border but also the border of the European Union, fulfilling its obligations as a member of the EU – President Andrzej Duda stated during his visit to the Hungarian capital.

"We, the Presidents of the countries of the Visegrád Group, gathered in Budapest today, express our full solidarity with the EU and NATO countries which face hybrid attacks at their borders with Belarus" – reads the statement of the Presidents of the Visegrád Group regarding the situation on the borders of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. "We emphasize that the authorities of Belarus bear full responsibility for the life and health of the people they have brought to their country and for resolving their humanitarian situation – the document announced in Budapest also reads. 

– The entire Visegrád community has expressed solidarity with Poland in this difficult situation we are facing in the face of the migration crisis – President Andrzej Duda highlighted during a joint conference of the Presidents of V4 Parliaments in Budapest. At the same time, the Presidents of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia declared their readiness to provide Poland, Lithuania and Latvia with all the assistance needed to protect the external borders of NATO and the European Union. 

– In the past weeks, we have experienced a very difficult migration crisis, a political crisis on the Polish-Belarusian and Lithuanian-Belarusian borders, announced Hungarian President János Áder.
