Poland Ranks Second Among EU Countries with Lowest Unemployment Rates

The unemployment rate, after seasonal adjustment, was 2.9% in Poland in February, as in January - Eurostat reported. The number of unemployed people in February amounted to 517,000, compared to 523,000 in the previous month. Poland is once again in second place in the European Union in terms of low unemployment. The Czech Republic was in first place with an unemployment rate of 2.6%, while Slovenia held third place with an unemployment rate of 3.1%.

In February 2024, the unemployment rate - calculated according to the Eurostat methodology - in the European Union was 6%, and in the euro zone - 6.5%. The estimated number of unemployed people was 13.25 million in the EU countries and 11.1 million in the euro area, respectively.
