Today marks the 102nd anniversary of the first match between Poland and Hungary
Sport

On December 18, 1921 – three years after Poland regained independence and almost exactly two years after the establishment of the Polish Football Association – the Polish national football team played its first-ever official international match. The opponent was Hungary, a team considered one of the best in Europe at the time. The match took place in Budapest and ended in Hungary's victory: in the 18th minute, the congestion in front of the Polish goal was exploited by Jenő Szabó, who scored the only goal during this historic encounter.
