Eurostat: Polish jobless rate third-lowest in EU, at 2.8% in August

According to the latest Eurostat data, the Visegrád Group countries remained among the countries with the lowest unemployment rates in the European Union in August. Poland recorded the third lowest unemployment rate (2.8%), after the Czech Republic (2.5%) and Malta (2.7%). The unemployment rate in Hungary was 4.0%. The highest number of unemployed individuals among the V4 countries was in Slovakia, where the unemployment rate was 5.8% in August. However, this was still below the average for the entire European Union, which was 5.9% in August (unemployment in the eurozone countries was 6.4%).

The Czech Republic achieved the best result in the entire European Union in August with an unemployment rate of 2.5%. In second place was Malta (with an unemployment rate of 2.7%), and Poland secured the third position (2.8%).

At the same time, Greece recorded the second-highest unemployment rate in the EU (10.9%) followed by Spain (11.5%).
