Poles like Americans, Italians, Czechs and Slovaks the most, according to the new survey

Americans are the most popular nation among Poles for another year in a row. The Italians came second, the Czechs third and the Slovaks fourth. This year, Hungarians took eighth place on the list of nations that Poles have the greatest sympathy for, ahead of the French, Georgians, Ukrainians and Germans - according to the latest survey conducted by CBOS. However, compared to last year's survey, the Hungarians clearly regained much of the sympathy of Poles.

Most Poles expressed sympathy for the Americans, 65 percent of those polled. Italians took second place with similar results, with 63 percent of survey participants expressing their sympathy. Behind the Italians were Polish neighbors: the Czechs (61 percent of those surveyed expressed sympathy for them and only seven percent disliked them) and the Slovaks (60 percent of survey participants declared a positive attitude towards them, eight percent negative).

46 percent of Poles declared sympathy for Hungarians and respondents and 17 percent were reluctant.

The Russians took the last place in the survey. Eight percent of Poles expressed affection towards them, 11 percent of those polled defined their feelings as indifference and 76 percent as dislike.

According to CBOS, the study was carried out from January 11 to 21, 2024 on a sample of 1,015 people (including: 59.8 percent using the CAPI method, 27.0 percent - CATI and 13.2 percent - CAWI).
