Yesterday, the 7th Guardian of Remembrance ceremonial gala took place at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Archbishop of Kraków, was the first winner of a special "The Guardian of Value" award.

Dr. Maciej Szymanowski, Director of the Wacław Felczak Institute delivered the Laudation - our Laureate is a courier and a guardian of values at the same time, whose words of protest against the statements, pseudo-truths, spoken on the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising against the families, destructive towards man, family and the family of families – the nation, shone this year like the light of a lighthouse. On the Vistula River, but also on the Danube and the Vltava, we have received official support from the presidents of the episcopates of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and representatives of other countries," noted Maciej Szymanowski.

I received news on Your Excellency receiving the Wacław Felczak Polish-Hungarian Cooperation Institute’s "Custos Yirtutum - Guardian of Value" award with the utmost pleasure. I would like to take this opportunity to kindly ask you to accept the most heartfelt congratulations, expressions of deep respect and best wishes.

The contribution of the Archbishop to the building and shaping of Christian values is well known and appreciated. Thorough knowledge of God, man, sensitivity to social issues, as well as the ability to find goodness invariably guide Your Excellency’s ministry. Through great determination, personal authority and faithfulness to evangelical ideals, the work of your Excellency, filled with concern for the welfare of the Catholic Church and our nation, yields really beautiful results. And today's Award also stands testament to the above.
