The number of persons who have already been vaccinated in Hungary has reached 3.5 million. So from Saturday morning the terraces of restaurants and cafes will be allowed to reopen – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Kossuth Radio on Friday.

– The economies in Central and Eastern Europe, in particular the Visegrád Group (V4) of Poland, Hungary, Czechia and Slovakia, have proven to be relatively resilient to restrictions aimed at curbing the coronavirus epidemic,  confirming the expectation that these economies will start to grow strongly this year despite the current third wave of epidemics – according to a recent forecast published by Fitch Ratings in London.

40 percent plan to vacation in Hungary this year, 21 percent will take trips both in Hungary and abroad, and 11 percent have their sights set only on foreign destinations – a survey by tourism company Everguest and Tárki shows. ​
