- I would like to sincerely thank our Hungarian friends for this wonderful initiative, which worships God through his saint, blessed father Popiełuszko and spreads the Christian vision of life and the Christian culture - said bishop Piotr Jarecki in a homily during Holy Mass celebrated at the event.

A Holy Mass, celebrated by Piotr Jarecki, an auxiliary bishop at Warsaw's archdiocese, preceded the unavailing of the plaque. Bishop Jarecki thanked the Hungarian authorities for this initiative, which worships God through his saint, blessed father Popiełuszko and spreads the Christian vision of life and the Christian culture.

During the homily, bishop Jarecki referred to a reading for that day from the Ecclesiastes. The bishop said:

"When reading a fragment of the Ecclesiastes, I thought that one more change should be added to those mentioned there: there is a time for communism and a time for communism to end; there is a time for a totalitarian system and a time for democracy. We have already endured it. Both Hungarians and Poles".

Bishop Jarecki also called for the testimony of faith to be shared in the social and civil dimension. - Faith should not only blossom in the lives of individuals, but also in the life of societies. In the life of the Hungarian and Polish nations. In the life of Europe and the world. Because we are certain that Jesus Christ the son of the living God is the only Saviour. And let this plaque, devoted to the blessed Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko speak of this - explained bishop Jarecki.
